ALUBERG 770 vs. 1370 – A Guide to Choosing the Right Width

ALUBERG mobile scaffold towers from the manufacturer METIGO are available in two standard widths: 770 mm and 1370 mm. At first glance this might seem like a minor detail – but the width of a scaffold determines who can work on it, how large the platform is, whether it will pass through a doorway, and how much space it occupies on site.

What Is ALUBERG?

ALUBERG is a range of mobile aluminium scaffold towers manufactured by the Polish company METIGO. The towers are certified to PN-EN 1004 (the equivalent of European standard EN 1004) and come in two configurations: S with outriggers (recommended by the manufacturer) and B with ballast outriggers (on request). Standard configurations cover working heights of 3–12 m.

ALUBERG 770 – Narrow Version

The number 770 is the frame width in millimetres. The working platform deck measures 1915 × 600 mm – the 770 has one deck per level (an area of approx. 0.6 × 1.9 m).

Why choose ALUBERG 770:

Door clearance. A standard doorway has a clear opening of 80–90 cm. A frame 770 mm wide passes through a doorway with an 80 cm clear opening (without outriggers). If you need to move the tower from room to room without dismantling it, the 770 is the right choice.

Space saving. In narrow corridors, lift shafts, offices, or confined industrial spaces, a smaller footprint is a significant advantage. The 770 allows you to work in places where the wider version simply won't fit.

Solo work. For a single operator, a 0.6 m wide deck is entirely adequate. If you don't need a second person on the platform, there is no reason to pay for a wider version.

Lower weight. Narrower frames mean lighter components – the 770 is easier to carry and can be handled by one person.

Typical applications of ALUBERG 770: residential renovations, interior painting and plastering, electrical and plumbing work in residential buildings, work in spaces with restricted aisle widths.

ALUBERG 1370 – Standard (Wide) Version

The number 1370 is the frame width in millimetres. Each level has two 1915 × 600 mm decks side by side (an area of approx. 1.2 × 1.9 m), so the working area is twice as large.

Why choose ALUBERG 1370:

Larger working area. An area of approx. 1.2 × 1.9 m is twice as large as 0.6 × 1.9 m. For work where more tools, materials, or two people need to be on the platform at the same time, the wider tower is the clear choice.

Two-person operation. Load class 3 (200 kg/m²) applies to both versions – but in practice, two people working comfortably on a 1370 platform is realistic, whereas on the 770 it would be cramped.

Same height, larger area. According to the manufacturer's parts list, both ALUBERG 770 and 1370 come in standard configurations for working heights of 3–12 m. The choice between the widths therefore comes down not to height, but to door clearance, the number of people and the working area you need.

Stability at greater heights. A wider base improves resistance to tipping sideways. This is particularly relevant when working closer to the maximum permitted height.

Typical applications of ALUBERG 1370: industrial buildings and manufacturing facilities, façade work (where corridor width is not a constraint), work at greater heights, operations where two people work on the platform simultaneously.
